Squarespace has quite a history with Super Bowl ads; they have been running them for 11 years, with just one break in 2019.
Here are all the ads from 2013 to today (2025)
2013 - Om
Jeff Bridges kicked off Squarespace’s venture into Super Bowl ads. This rather unusual video got 1 million people to click over to the site .
2014 - A Better Web Awaits
This is a rather unusual ad in the second year. There are no real stars, but there are a lot of outfits and makeup.
2015 - Bridges returns
Jeff Bridges made a return in 2015. Shooting people off to the same website as in 2013.
2016 - Real talk
Key and Peele make this another unusual video for the Super Bowl 2016.
2017 - John Malkovich
In this very well-done ad, John Malkovich stars looking for his domain name on the web. This is a cracker, one of my favourites.
2018 - Make It Happen
Keanu Reeves stars on his motorbike in the 2018 Squarespace Super Bowl ad. This is visually impressive, but I'm not sure if it’s CGI or if Keanu actually stands on the motorbike.
2019 - silence
There was no ad for Super Bowl 2019 by Squarespace.
2020 - Winona in Winona
Winona Ryder starred in this amusing ad, in Squarespace’s return to the Super Bowl ads after a break in 2019.
2021 - 5 to 9
This energetic 30-second ad, a retake of the Dolly Parton song "9 to 5," made Squarespace stand out in the 2021 Super Bowl. It was in 2021 that Media Surgery took notice of Squarespace's popularity. In 2024 we produced our own Premium Squarespace template.
2022 - Sally’s Seashells
Superstar Zendaya starred in this 2022 Super Bowl ad. It's not one of my favourites, to be honest.
2023 - The Singularity
Adam Driver features in the 2023 Super Bowl ad. This is a polished piece and very memorable.
2024 - Hello Down there
Martin Scorsese directs and stars in the 2024 Squarespace Super Bowl ad.
2025 - A Tale As Old As Websites
Barry Keoghan stars in the latest Squarespace Super Bowl ad. Shot in Ireland and shown in February for the Super Bowl, this is my favourite ad of the lot. From a pragmatic point of view, the Squarespace brand is mentioned repeatedly without being annoying. Great job!
